There are several ways to support the life and mission of the Brotherhood of Hope. These giving options help sustain the Brothers, train new Brothers, and fuel the campus ministries and missionary work entrusted to them.
Donate Online
Make a one-time donation to help students encounter Christ through our campus ministries. You can also set up a monthly recurring gift to help grow the mission and reach more students.
Gifts can be made in honor or memory of a family member, friend, or loved one.

Matching Gifts
Many donors partner with their employers to support our mission of evangelizing college students. Companies often sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by employees. Some companies even match gifts made by retirees and spouses.
If your company has a matching gift program, request a matching gift form from your employer and send it completed and signed with your gift to the Brotherhood of Hope, PO Box 17361, Smithfield, RI 02917. We will process the gift from here.
Stocks and Mutual Funds
Donations of appreciated shares of stock or mutual funds help us in our mission to evangelize on secular college campuses while also offering tax benefits to you.
Why give through an appreciated asset?
- You are eligible for a charitable income tax deduction on the fair market value of the securities on the date of transfer.
- You pay no capital gains tax on securities you donate that you have held for more than one year.
- Donating securities can help you rebalance your portfolio.
How do I make a securities transfer?
Please notify the Brotherhood of your securities transfer by emailing hello@brohope.net. Your personal notification allows us to identify and promptly acknowledge your gift.
To transfer shares held with your broker directly to the Brotherhood of Hope Inc. brokerage account, provide your broker or advisor with the following information:

If possible, please ask your broker to include your name on the transaction so that we can link you to the transfer and supply the appropriate tax documents.
Qualified Charitable Distributions from an IRA
If you are over 70 1/2 and are required to take distributions from your IRA, giving some of your distribution to support our mission may offer you tax benefits. Contact your plan administrator or financial advisor to learn more about making a qualified charitable donation from your required minimum distribution.
Bequests
A bequest is a gift of any amount or form made to the Brotherhood of Hope in a donor’s will or trust.
Suggested language: “I hereby give _________ (percentage, residuary share or specific amount or asset) to the Brotherhood of Hope, 785-789 Parker Street, Boston, MA 02120; EIN: 22-2596127.”
We advise donors to review the language of their wills with an attorney who specializes in estate planning.

Retirement Plan Beneficiary Designation
You can name the Brotherhood of Hope as a beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), or other qualified plan. You can designate the Brotherhood of Hope to receive all or a portion of the balance of your plan through your plan administrator.
