Favorite Brotherhood memory:
Sarah – There are so many, but specifically having Br. Sam at our wedding made everything feel full circle for us. I told him then that I don’t know if I would have been able to stand up there if it hadn’t been for all of his help throughout my years in college.
Ryan – Men’s Retreats to New Hampshire are truly some of my best memories: weekends of prayer, praise, labor (chopping serious amounts of wood) and leisure. We were challenged by the Brothers to live life more fully and to enter into spiritual warfare; breaking down what held us back from God and being free. After we bought our house, we created a dedicated prayer room where we could praise and worship the Lord as we had done with the Brothers.
How the Brotherhood shaped our life:
Sarah – I had to change some things in my life and began meeting with Br. Sam. He helped me work through so many wounds and supported me growing closer to the Lord. I soaked in everything I could from the Brothers: the Catholic Center events, suggested books, Fr. Paul’s homilies; and really began to make changes and realize my identity as a daughter of God.
Ryan – The Brothers guided me through my rocky road of formation and helped me to chase after God, year in and year out. By both their witness to the faith and active teaching or spiritual guidance, I came to be the man I am now. They guided me to Him, and for this I am forever grateful.
